Establishing
an Item Unit of
Measure
All Unit of Measure (UOM) entries in the Units of Measure Lookup table
are displayed in the Measure field drop-down list. You may also enter a
new UOM in this field.
To assign a unit of measure to the selected item:
1. In the Item Data form, click the drop-down arrow in the Measure field
and select the UOM from the list that appears, or enter the Unit of Mea-
sure in the Measure field.
2. The conversion field enables you to easily keep track of the UOM con-
version rate. Enter the Unit of Measure conversion in the Conversion
field.
For example if you select Each as the Unit of Measure in the Measure
field, enter 1 for the conversion. Or, if you select Box as the Unit of
Measure in the Measure field, and a box contains ten items, enter 10 in
the conversion field.
3. Enter the cost for the item unit in the Unit Cost field.
